Step into the world of future surgery
IRCAD (Research Institute against Digestive Cancer) was founded in 1994 within the premises of Strasbourg’s University Hospital. It pools digestive cancer research laboratories, a research and development department in computer sciences and robotics, and a training centre in minimally invasive surgery.
The Virtual University for surgeons
WeBSurg is a charge-free web-based educational resource in minimally invasive surgery. It provides the healthcare community a wide range of surgical procedures, videos, lectures, and case reports.
Set in an outstanding decor, at the heart of Strasbourg, on the edge of the historical ‘Petite France’ quarter, rediscover the unique charm of the Haras: a prestige hotel, a Brasserie restaurant beautifully run by Marc Haeberlin, in a spirit faithful to the original stud farm, decorated and furnished by the famous Jouin-Manku design agency, a Biocluster dedicated to medical surgical innovation.
Institute of Image-guided Surgery (IHU Strasbourg)
Strasbourg’s IHU project was created by IRCAD and benefits from a 200 million Euro budget. It tied the 1st place in a ranking put together by an international jury in April 2011 for “Investissements d’Avenir” financed by the French Grand Loan. Facing the IRCAD building, the IHU Strasbourg will combine the know-how of medical experts, scientists and industrials in order to create a unique site for healthcare, research and training.
